We are expanding our football team and looking for detail-focused people who know the game.
What you'll do
- Watch full 90-minute football matches and tag every key event: passes, shots, goals, assists, fouls, tackles, dribbles, saves, interceptions, duels, crosses, clearances and set pieces.
- Attribute events to the correct players by jersey number, including who passed and who received.
- Mark the exact moment each event happens, working frame by frame where precision demands it.
- Follow the ball and the play across the full pitch, keeping track of which player is which through crowded passages.
- Review other annotators' work and correct errors before delivery.
- Follow written annotation guidelines exactly, and flag anything unclear rather than guessing.
What we're looking for
- Real football knowledge. You can tell a tackle from an interception, and a key pass from an ordinary one, without being talked through it. Playing, coaching or watching the game closely all count.
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline (minimum requirement).
- Previous data annotation experience preferred: video, image or text labelling, or annotation QA work.
- Strong attention to detail and patience for careful, repetitive work.
- Comfortable using a computer and learning new software quickly.
- Able to read and follow detailed written instructions in English.
- Reliable, and able to meet daily delivery deadlines.
Remote setup (essential)
- A good laptop or desktop: minimum Intel Core i5 or equivalent, 8GB RAM (16GB preferred) and an SSD. You will be streaming and stepping through long HD matches inside a browser-based tool, and a slow machine will not cope.
- A reliable broadband connection with stable speed. You will stream hours of HD video daily. Mobile data alone is not suitable.
- A quiet, dedicated workspace where you can concentrate for long stretches without interruption.
- Uninterrupted power, or a backup such as an IPS or UPS, so load shedding does not stop your work.
An advantage
- Experience tagging football specifically, on any platform.
- Experience with video editing, QA or other detail-heavy work.
- Familiarity with wide-angle or panoramic match footage.
